Biconcave lenses (BCC) have generally symmetrical shape but can also have surfaces with different radii of curvature, especially if integrated in special optical systems. They have negative focal lengths and always form virtual images that are viewed through the lens; they also have the property of diverging light beams incident on their surfaces. These lenses are often used inside the so-called beam expanders, or to lengthen the focal length of optical systems that already exist.
Tecnottica Consonni makes available the production of BCC lenses in different optical glasses and with the usual Anti-Reflection coatings optimized for ultraviolet (UV), visible (VIS), near infrared (NIR and SWIR) and other wavelengths or bandwidths chosen by the customer.
